Carnets de chorégraphes

2014

IN ASSOCIATION WITH CHRISTOPHE MARTIN AND PHILIPPE VERRIÈLE

In this book, Yvann Alexandre, Jean-Christophe Boclé, Myriam Gourfink and Perrine Valli open the doors to their world by publishing their creative notebooks. A unique immersion into the heart of choreographic creation, and a way also to remind us that dance is first composed in the mind of its creator before coming to life in the studio and then on stage.

Danser la peinture

2015

A BOOK ABOUT A DANCED COUNTER-HISTORY OF ART.
IN ASSOCIATION WITH LAURENT PALLIER AND PHILIPPE VERRIÈLE.

Danser la peinture (“Dancing Paintings”) bears its name so well we would not know how else to name it. Indeed, for his beautiful and clever book, Philippe Verrièle asked eleven young choreographers to “dance” a painter of their choice for him, the writer-journalist and dance critic, while Laurent Paillier, essentially a dance photographer, photographed them. The result matched the ambitions of the authors: it is magnificent.

Déproduction

2011

IN ASSOCIATION WITH NICOLAS LELIÈVRE

Contrary to a production, this project offers a reflection on the art of dancing beyond its stage form. The development of a piece, often long and fascinating, is plainly displayed. Various avenues of work are not removed to enhance the final result: Instead they are kept, highlighted even, to showcase the choreographer’s tests and trials.

CARTE BLANCHE

My Swiss friend

2010

IN ASSOCIATION WITH CINDY VAN ACKER, TAMARA BACCI, MIKA VAINIO, MATHIEU BERTHOLET, MARTHE KRUMMENACHER, POLAR/ERIC LINDER, JENNIFER BONN, FREDÉRIC LOMBARD, INARI SALMINAVAARA, AXELLE REMEAUD AND MARCEL LUCKYGHOST

This project is the result of a carte blanche given to Perrine Valli, resident French-Swiss artist at Mains d’Oeuvres for four years. This atypical carte blanche involves the artist’s fellow travellers but also aims to highlight a certain specific trend of thought that emerges from their research. This event gathers together for the first time in France a bunch of atypical Swiss artists at the forefront of the Geneva scene.

Cité intérieure

2017

2016

Two solos, one quintet; two authors, Perrine Valli and Vincent Thomasset, and a collective, (LA)HORDE, who all have their own powerful, original universe. All meet up with unique, different personalities; all have to reconsider their dancing in the face of their disabilities, which obviously seems like an obstacle at first; all have to force it open, test it maybe, for it to remain itself, in league with this otherness which our society constantly eludes.

Mélodies de bonheur

2014

IN ASSOCIATION WITH YAN DUYVENDAK AND CHRISTOPHE FIAT

They have entered the underbelly of Moulin Rouge, Geneva’s legendary nightclub. What happens there ? Is it erotic ? Mysterious ? Does the tension crackle under the spotlights ? Performers take over this obscure strip-tease venue with a guitar, drums, words and pictures… We are here and elsewhere, in the past and the present, within the heralded and still haunted vestiges of times to come.
